Learn more about who we are!

What do we do?

Out with the travel sites that make you just scroll away– we’re here to make memories! Here in Project Dalan, we aim to take you on an unexpected adventure to Nueva Ecija and make it fun and memorable along the way!

What's our goal?

Agriculture is such an important part of our culture, and we’ve seen agritourism’s capacity to help uplift rural communities and enhance the lives of farmers in Japan. With a little inspiration from them and a lot of work from us, we hope to highlight the potential of agritourism for growth in our country and hopefully uplift the farmers along the way.

How IT started

Project Dalan started just from a simple question: “Hey…what’s a fun idea to explore?” Our small group searched for something to explore. Something interesting and perhaps known and unknown to us is the topic of our thesis project. We thought of all sorts of things —from gaming to maximalism to street food—until we stumbled upon Agritourism in Nueva Ecija. One of our team members’ families came from Nueva Ecija, but didn’t know too much about it, but suggested it anyway as a silly idea that we could possibly explore.

They contacted a friend of theirs, Kammy Kambing, and he and his friends brought us on an adventure. We discovered beautiful hillsides and farms, delicious foods to die for, and people who were passionate all the same. There was so much to discover and so little time to do so, and we thought, “Why isn’t this more popular?” The views were breathtaking, and the memories were unforgettable, but for some reason, the Philippines kept mostly marketing focused on its beaches.

True, the beaches in the Philippines are absolutely stunning and wonderful, but why market just that? With Boracay, Palawan, and Siargao taking center stage, these places have experienced issues with overtourism, which brought about environmental damage, gentrification, and the exploitation of the local community and of natural resources. Clearly, the solution was to just… decentralize tourism and give other places a chance to shine.

So with that in mind, we explored, did our research, and tried our best to understand what this province needed to tap into its untapped potential. Kammy suggested that he and his friends could help us curate an adventure for you all to make new memories, and that’s just what we did. So we hope you enjoy Project Dalan and make your own memories along the way.

KAMMY

Kammy Kambing is our number one adventure boy! He always wants to make new connections with people and explore all of Nueva Ecija. He loves the world not only for what it is, but what it could be, and shares it with his many friends all over the world!

IMON and SILLY

Simon and Silas Sibuyas may look similar to one another, but their personalities couldn’t be further apart. Imon is an unexpectedly sweet guy, and Silly is spicy and is unafraid to let you know it.But even with such different personalities, they both have a strong love for science and technology!

BAUBAU

Sweet and sensitive Baubau loves to provide for her community, providing all sorts of Karabao products for them to enjoy. Her favorite thing to do in Nueva Ecija is to graze the fields with her friends and family. She also believes that food brings communities together!

PENNY

Strong and humble Penny is the golden child of Nueva Ecija, literally and figuratively. She has not just a green thumb, but a golden thumb, as with her touch, any plant blooms beautifully! With vast rice paddies under their care, the rice granary of the Philippines will truly thrive! 😏

SUNNY

With the song “walking on sunshine” as their motto sunny has the ability to carry joy and love with them no matter  where they go. Sunny is also the most photogenic and skilled photographer, so feel free to ask them for tips and even pics!

TILLY

Tilly, being a Tilapia, speaks in a language we don’t quite understand.  Bubbles and blues are his way to go! Even then, he’s the most understanding and chill guy you will ever meet. His favorite motto is “🫧🫧🫧🐟🐟🫧🐟🫧”  Which means ”Not all those who wander are lost”.
